i've been doing lots of things...bragbook for the workshops, revamping the workshop kit, visiting youth organizations to tell them about our workshops, sending emails, reading emails...went to a stroke of art on sunday which was cool. i'm not much of a painter/drawer/anything artistic, but it was inspiring to see some great artwork.
i'll be finishing the bragbook finally this week, going on another adventure day to visit a ton of organizations, adding info to the database and getting ready for all the workshops!! sooo pumped about going to bres' cottage on the weekend because i haven't seen her since last summer woooo! that's all for now, catch ya later :)

Driving Miss Daisy

Had my first driving lesson a week ago...2 words...rough scene!!
My intructor jammed on the brake when I was only going like 30km...and he was like "woaa there, slow down". At this rate, maybe I'll get my license by the time I graduate...

don't say a word...

hey everyone...i'm baaaack :)
so i haven't posted an update in a little while...and by "a little while" i mean almost a year, oops. but that's changing, starting today :)
so i watched this movie the other day called "don't say a word" with michael douglas and i really liked it, even though some of my friends didn't hold two thumbs up. it's a drama/low level horror movie about a girl who knows this number and a bunch of bad guys want it...hard to explain, so just go rent it and tell me what you think...

To my family with love

Hey Everyone. Sorry it's taken me so long to set up the internet here, but everything's been pretty hectic. So what have I been doing here? I cleaned toilets all last week for 'dorm crew'. It wasn't as bad as it sounds, wait, wait, yes it was. I met a lot of cool people though. Today I'm writing two placement exams. I asked if I could just not write the 2 hour long tests and get placed into the lowest possible writing and math class. Apparently that is not permitted. First I have to write the test and then they have to tell me. Personally, I thought I was being helpful, but I guess not. Oh well.
My mom just left today to go back to Toronto. I read V's last update and the last few lines really caught my attention. It talked about family and how important it is. I never really realized how integral my family was to me. I guess it's like a lot of good things in life...you don't realize how precious and important they are until they're taken away. I never thought I would miss my family this much, even the little things they do. My mom always waking me up in the morning, making me breakfast, how she would always tell me to lock the door when she was going to workout and always telling me not to be out too late. I miss the way my dad would always calculate things on his massive calculator, the way his tongue would stick out just a little when he was concentrating really hard and how he always let me sit on the lazy boy chair in the basement when he was already there. I miss the way my brother would always talk about cars and then the constant ringing of his cell phone. I miss homecooked meals and talking about our hockey games. But more than anything, I miss seeing their faces everyday. I love you Mom, Dad and Jordan. Nanny and grandma and grandpa and all my aunts, uncles and cousins-I miss you all and love you. Here's a poem I found..."Let's promise to love each other forever, in good time and in bad times, on silly days or sad, for better or worse, richer or poorer, through thick and thin (and fat days too). Let's promise to share our secrets and dreams, to trust enough to tell the truth, and forgive and forget (everything but the good stuff). Let's celebrate mistakes, and cry over anything, and laugh at nothing, and just be there for each other-forever and always".
Love you all,
Ashley
p.s. Miss you guys at TIG!
